Several years ago, the most popular browser in the world was Netscape. Almost all of the net users used it. However, years changed and there was a new competitor, which is better than the previous browser, which is called Internet Explorer. Even tough it has many advantages, the position of Firefrox now is threatened with the new arrival of the competitors in browser class like Opera and the newest browser, that we will discuss for this time that is Chrome.

Opera has been recognized among netters because of its speed while opening web pages. For several cases, Opera is faster than Firefox. Besides that, it is open source too. The newest version of Opeara has reached version 9. Opera is also famous as a great browser in hand phone. I is named Opera Mini. It has great compatibility while opening websites, if we compare it with the other standard browsers in hand phone. Almost all of standard extensions can be opened. It isn’t like the other browser that only can open web that has xhtml extension. On the other hand, Opera Mini can open a full page, it also supports zoom too, pretty cool huh? The only disadvantages of Opera Mini is that it can’t support java script. However, the developer is trying to solve this problem in the future version.

I wonder if our best browser will go down as soon as the new competitor arrives that is Chrome which is developed by Google. I think Google now is better than other huge corporation after it dominate Search Engine, E-mail, Blog with Blogger, Map with Google Earth and also ads with Google Adsense. Now, they begin to reach the browser class that is full with great competitors. Chrome, from its developer is claimed as a future browser that is predicted to replace the domination of Mozilla Firefox or Opera. Chrome has minimalist design, fast to install, reliable and customizable. Besides that, the Google search engine has been integrated in the address bar. This means when we type any word in the address bar, Chrome will directly search it in the database of Google, it’s very cool isn’t it? The other advantage is on its privation control. Chrome won’t save any data that have relation with privation for instance cookies and incognito. This means if we forget to log out on a website, the other can’t see our accounts and passwords. Of course, it will reduce the probability of hacking, he.., he...This feature can be used in many internet café that is used by many people. Chrome is also reported that it has an amazing speed while opening web pages if we compare it with Mozilla Firefox. This is happened because Chrome uses new rendering web engine which is developed by Google. Nevertheless, it also has several disadvantages, for example, there is no support in plugins because Chrome is still new so no one has made the plugins. On the other side, the compatibility with several blogs is still questionable.

Finally, people are still wondering whether Chrome will replace the domination of its elders or not. It is like Netscape which is replaced by Internet Explorer and also Internet Exporer which is go down after the arrival of Mozilla Firefox. It is also a big mystery because not every new product can dominate market. For instance, YouTube which is own by a small corporation while comparing with Google, can compete with the similar product released by Google which is a huge corporation. YouTube now is known as the best in its class. We just have to wait how their competition flows. Chrome, Browser Terbaru dari Google

Browser merupakan software yang digunakan untuk melakukan browsing atau surfing di internet. Perangkat lunak yang sangat esensial bagi kalangan netter. Browser berguna untuk membuka file-file di internet seperti html, php, aspx ataupun flv (streaming video). Yang kamu gunain sekarang untuk membuka halaman ini juga browser kok ^_^. Dulu browser pertama yang berkembang dan populer di dunia adalah Netscape. Hampir semua orang memakai software ini dalam berinternet ria. Namun zaman berganti dengan adanya pesaing terbaru yang lebih handal yaitu Internet Explorer buatan Microsoft dan sudah terintegrated ke dalam paket OS windows. Yang ini juga sempat merajai pasaran browser sebelum kedatangan pesaing baru yang lebih kompetitif. Dan yang terbaru dan masih menjadi yang terbaik di kelas browser adalah Mozilla Firefox. Kelebihan dari Firefox sendiri adalah pada opensourcenya alias gratis. Nggak perlu keluar uang untuk mendapatkan sebuah browser yang hebat. Selain itu, Firefox dikenal mampu membuka banyak format seperti streaming video di YouTube. Dia juga dilengkapi dengan berbagai macam plugin yang sangat berguna untuk mensupport atau menambah fitur browser. Downloable pula, kurang apa coba. Versi Firefox sendiri sekarang sudah mencapai versi 3.0.1 kalau nggak salah. Walaupun memiliki banyak kelebihan, posisi Firefrox kini masih terancam dengan hadirnya kompetitor-kompetitor di kelas browser terbaru semacam Opera dan browser terbaru yang akan kita bahas pada kali ini yaitu Chrome.

Untuk Opera sudah banyak dikenal di kalangan netter karena kecepatannya yang luar biasa dalam membuka halaman web. Untuk beberapa kasus, Opera jauh lebih cepat dibandingkan Firefox. Selain itu, software ini open source pula. Versi terbaru Opera sendiri sudah mencapai versi 9. Selain browser untuk komputer, Opera dikenal pula sebagai yang terbaik di kelas browser untuk handphone. Untuk yang satu ini diberi nama Opera Mini. Kelebihan browser ini dibandingkan dengan browser sejenis yang banyak ditanamkan satu paket dengan handphone adalah kompatibilitasnya dalam membuka alamat web. Hampir semua ekstensi standar dapat dia buka. Nggak seperti browser standar di handphone yang hanya mampu membuka alamat berekstensi xhtml. Selain itu, Opera Mini dapat membuka halaman secara penuh, bisa di zoom pula, keren kan? Yang menjadi satu-satunya kelemahan Opera Mini adalah ketidakmampuannya dalam mensupport java script. Namun kelemahan ini juga masih diusahakan untuk diperbaiki di versi mendatang.

Nah ini dia yang ditunggu-tunggu, akankah posisi jawara browser kita akan turun dengan adanya pesaing baru yaitu Chrome yang dikembangkan Google. Makin hebat saja ya si Google ini, setelah menguasai pasar Search Engine, E-mail, Blog dengan Blogger-nya, Map dengan Google Earth-nya serta ads alias iklan dengan Google Adsense-nya, kini mereka mulai merambah ke kelas browser yang dipenuhi pesaing yang kompetitif. Chrome menurut para pengembangnya diklaim sebagai calon browser masa depan yang diprediksi mampu menggeser dominasi Mozilla Firefox atau Opera. Chrome diklaim memiliki desain yang minimalis, cepat diinstall, bisa diandalkan serta customizable alias bisa diganti-ganti konfigurasinya sesuka hati. Selain itu, Search Engine Google sudah terintegrated dengan address bar. Hal ini berarti bahwa ketika kita mengetikkan kata di address bar, Chrome akan langsung mencarinya di database Google, keren bangeet kan. Kelebihan yang lain adalah pada kontrol privasinya. Chrome tidak akan menyimpan data yang berhubungan dengan privasi contohnya cookies dan incognito. Artinya walupun kita lupa melakukan log out pada suatu website, hal ini tidak akan menjadi masalah karena orang setelah kita tidak bisa melihat password dan account kita. Hal ini juga meminimalisasi kemungkinan tindakan para hacker, he.., hee... Fitur ini sangat cocok diterapkan pada warnet-warnet yang dipakai banyak orang secara bergantian. Chrome juga dikabarkan memiliki kecepatan yang mengagumkan dalam membuka halaman web bila dibandingkan dengan Mozilla Firefox. Hal ini terjadi karena Chrome memakai rendering web dengan engine terbaru yang dikembangkan Google. Namun disamping memiliki banyak kelebihan, browser ini juga memiliki kelemahan diantaranya adalah dukungan untuk plugin masih belum ada. Maklum, Chrome kan browser yang masih baru jadi belum ada orang yang membuat plugin untuk browser ini. Selain itu, kompatibilitasnya dengan beberapa alamat blog juga masih diragukan.

Akhirnya, yang masih menjadi pertanyaan akankah Chrome menggeser dominasi pendahulu-pendahulunya seperti Netscape yang digeser Internet Explorer serta Internet Exporer yang pamornya meredup setelah kedatangan Mozilla Firefox. Hal ini juga masih menjadi misteri karena tidak selalu produk baru mampu merajai pasaran. Sebagai contoh, YouTube, yang diprakarsai perusahaan kecil bila dibandingkan dengan Google, mampu bersaing dengan produk sejenis yang dikeluarkan Google yang notabene perusahaan raksasa.
